Smarty Mass Spectrometer
It all started in the 7th grade, the Proctor & Gamble company donated a used Mass Spectrometer machine in our local Junior High. Science class became real and we even got to bring gasoline to school -- to analyze it of course!
Alas, that machine was the size of a dining room table, cost several hundreds of thousands of dollars new. Not something you can carry in your backpack.
Then Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone.
Lightbulb moment!
Combine a mobile computer with some Objective-C and C code. Add a base to safely store your sample. And the Smarty Mass Spectrometer was born.
